Upcoming Events!

We’re excited to have many upcoming events on our calendar!  We hope you’ll join us!

It feels good to be able to invite our friends, old and new, back into our building for fundraisers, festivals, and other celebrations. It feels like it has been much too long since we’ve seen many of you!

Coming up in just over a week is Patchwork Central’s Pancake Extravaganza. Stop by Patchwork on Saturday, April 22 between 7:30 am and 11:30 am for all-you-can-eat pancakes (plain, blueberry, and gluten free) along with our signature baked apples and sausage, orange juice, and coffee. Tickets can be purchased at the door and cost $5 for children and $8 for adults. All proceeds benefit our programming.

On April 27, we’ll hold the End of the School Year Celebration at 5:30 pm. It’s a time when all of this year’s Arts & Smarts Children’s Program participants, volunteers, staff, and their families are invited to join us to celebrate our accomplishments from the Fall and Spring semesters. The evening will include an art show, a slide show, awards, and supper for everyone.

The year’s First Friday events begin on Friday, May 5, 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and run through October. At Patchwork, you’ll find live music on our front lawn, the street blocked off, and an array food trucks parked on Washington Avenue. You can eat on the lawn or come inside Patchwork for tables, restrooms, and air conditioning. From Patchwork, you can stroll down to Haynie’s Corner for more First Friday music and activities.

Then on Saturday, May 20 at 2:00 pm, we’ll dedicate a new, artful seating area located just outside Patchwork’s front doors. The area is being created in memory of three long-time Patchwork members who have died in the past few years: Alan Winslow, Beth Stone, and Darlene Blagg. The area will feature a colorful mural “carpet” painted on the sidewalk by Helen Pope, an artist with Twymon Art Gallery. Benches will be installed on two sides of the mural. We hope that this seating area will add to the welcoming sense of peace and reflection in this place for everyone who passes by.
