Patchwork Central Seeking Garden Educators

Patchwork Central’s garden has been an important part of our neighborhood presence for almost 25 years. It was created from an empty lot by Bill Hemminger in 1995. Since then, it has fed our neighbors, educated countless children about where their food comes from, and provided a beautiful and peaceful patch of green at the heart of Evansville. The garden has always been organic. Its blackberry patch is legendary.

However, life moves on, and Bill and our other main gardener Pat Marienau have decided that it is time to retire. As a result, Patchwork is seeking a volunteer or a group of volunteers to provide leadership in the following areas:

  • A Head Gardener to coordinate the garden year round
  • Garden Educators to lead gardening lessons during our two Summer Art Garden Weeks

A full job description for both these positions can be found by clicking here.

Please contact us if you would like a tour of the garden or other additional information!

If you are interested in volunteering for these positions, please contact us at Patchwork Central by calling (812) 424-2735 or emailing PWCentral@Patchwork.org.
