Last week we gathered with families and friends to wrap up the school year in our Arts & Smarts Program. It was a wonderful celebration to conclude a wonderful year.
Participants got to show off their artwork for everyone to see. The art show included displays of ceramics, collagraphs (prints made using a printing plate constructed from a collage of textured materials), and “junk” journals (another art form based on found objects and collage).
The group sang “The Rainbow Connection,” led by Great-Grandpa Gary on guitar and Evan on banjo. We feasted on pizza. And we watched a slide show to remind us of everything we accomplished during the year. You can watch a version of that slide show below!
Now we’re looking ahead to the summer. We hope you will join us! Summer Arts & Smarts programming will run Monday-Wednesday for six weeks: June 8-24 & July 6-22. There is space for participants who are entering grade 2 and up, high school volunteers, and adult volunteers.
