We’re looking forward to the new school year in our Arts & Smarts Program!
It all starts next week on Tuesday, September 3 with Leadership Training for participants in grades 6-8 plus our high school volunteers. Participants in the 5th grade who participated in the Arts & Smarts program last year are also invited to join us as Leaders in Training. This year we’re excited to have the largest group of Junior Leaders and Junior Leaders in Training that we’ve ever had!
Our programming opens to all participants in grades 1 and up on Tuesday, September 17!
You can get registration forms for your child in Patchwork’s main office or by downloading a copy from our website.You will notice that we have a new schedule this year. This is an effort to adjust to changes in enrollment and families’ schedules. Programming will be offered from 3:15 pm-5:45 pm three days per week instead of four: Tuesday-Thursday. We have a lot of fun activiites planned for the fall! We’ll do watercolor painting, pour painting, and polymer clay sculpting. We’ll have more visiting folk artists and visitors from EVPL to lead the group in STEM activities. We’ll have new art opportunities during intro time, including the return of easel painting and other open-ended art projects. We’ll also celebrate different artists’ birthdays throughout the year, making special projects to celebrate. We’ll continue to build leadership skills, we’ll present substance abuse prevention lessons, and we’ll get to know all of our participants along with the things that excite and interest them.
It will be a great year!
